Llettehsa - Give God the Praise
Llettehsa Sylvester Full Bio
Absolutely gifted with a heavenly voice that captures you from note alpha to note omega. You can’t miss her jazz and gospel at the junction.
Llettesha Sylvester is a distinguished soprano who has excelled at the top of her class. As a Music Festival Champion in 2010 she claimed the titles: Most Outstanding Vocalist, Winner of the Lieder Class, Broadway Female Class and Myer Shield 2nd Place. She possesses a refreshing voice- bouyant, jubilant and sensational with a personality reminiscent of her graceful tone.
Llettesha has travelled both regionally and internationally performing for audiences of Members of Parliament, Ministers of Government, Ambassadors, The Prime Minister and President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
She has studied voice over an eight (8) year period under the tutelage of Mr. Jessel Murray, Dr. Charles Brunner and the late Dr. Vertrelle Cameron-Mickens. As a graduate of the University of Trinidad and Tobago Llettesha has completed an Artist Diploma in Music Performance with an emphasis in Voice from the Academy of the Performing Arts. She also holds a Distinction in Grade 8 Practical Singing.
Llettesha is no stranger to the local and regional jazz stage as she has performed at Jazz Artists on the Greens, Tobago Jazz Experience and Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival with The Dean Williams Quartet.
In May 2015 Llettesha took command of the stage in the leading role of Mahalia Jackson in JCS Productions’ 25 show run of “MAHALIA: A GOSPEL MUSICAL” at The Little Carib Theatre, Central Bank Auditorium and Naparima Bowl.
People have dubbed her “the Trini Fantasia” and it’s easy to see the connection. Llettesha Sylvester, like the American Idol winner, has a voice that forces you to sit up and listen. Crescendoing with the ease of a professional opera singer with a soulful voice that’s easy on the ears like India Arie’s vocal stylings, her singing comes from a place rich with emotion.
